about

This is a song of defiance, sung by the Goddess of Music herself, an opera singer, who shows us that artists will eventually win spiritually, even if they are materially poor, because they have the power of Sound.

Despite the oppression and inequity outside, the lack of dignity and basic needs afforded to artists, by the political economy outside, the singer maintains deep sense of dignity, and while not reacting emotionally to the injustice, presents the power of music – tenderness, happiness and joy, and feelings that the musical tribespeople have in common, which the other participants of a materialist political economy (especially a class of people who spend time measuring this and that and collecting things) may not have.

You cannot silence,

silence our scales.

Major or minor

we’ll entwine Her.

Diminished or augmented

we won’t be tormented.

You cannot silence

our peaceful non violence.
